Nick Wood graduated from St Mary’s Hospital Medical School
(Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine) in 1994.
After completing his core specialist training in Obstetrics and
Gynaecology (O&G) the Yorkshire region, Nick undertook a
research degree (MD) at the University of Leeds, investigating the
screening of women with an inherited risk of womb cancer. Nick
completed his advanced specialist training in O&G in the
Yorkshire region whilst deciding upon a career in Gynaecological
Oncology. He moved to St James Hospital, Leeds, in 2005 to
undertake a sub-specialist training programme in Gynaecological
Oncology surgery. Nick was appointed as a Consultant Gynaecologist
and Gynaecological Oncologist at Royal Preston Hospital in 2008. He
lives with his wife (Consultant in Emergency Medicine) and three
children in the Ribble Valley.
