Message from the Hospital Director



Fulwood Hall Hospital continues to focus on delivering high standards of patient care in a friendly and approachable manner. Working with our partners, which include local GPs, consultants and other specialists, we deliver an individual personal service to patients, tailored to meet their needs. 

Working within the Department of Health guidelines, we screen patients for MRSA, and have a strong focus on patient safety. Cleanliness is vital to minimising infection. Our hospital staff are fully trained in the latest procedures and thus maintain all areas to the highest standards. 

Any patient who wishes to satisfy themselves on the quality of the hospital and it’s consultants can be reassured by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) Audits undertaken by the Department of Health which support the hospital’s excellent reputation. 

Fulwood Hall Hospital works with The Commissioning for Quality and Innovation (CQUINs) payments framework which encourages care providers to share and continually improve how care is delivered and to achieve transparency and overall improvement in healthcare. For you – the patient – this means better experience, involvement and outcomes.

The two CQUINs being undertaken for 2017/18 are:

  1. Culture of Care Barometer: A survey tool designed to help organisations gauge the culture of care they provide.
  2. Sign up to Safety: For organisations to undertake the five Sign up to Safety pledges, looking at the following areas: 
  • Patient falls
  • Care of the deteriorating patient and serious incident reporting
  • Information security of patient data
