Wednesday 2 May 2018

Fulwood Hall Hospital with the support of patients, consultants and staff have raised over £2,000 for national charity - Defying Dementia.

The independent hospital which provides high quality healthcare to NHS, private and insured patients in Preston, organised a series of events and charity raffles throughout 2017 including; a charity walk, card sales, collection boxes, charity raffles, a Christmas jumper day and received a much appreciated patient donation.

Sheila Blain, Ward Clerk at Fulwood Hall Hospital who organised the fundraising events and activities, said:

“On behalf of Fulwood Hall Hospital, I would like to thank all those who have supported our fundraising efforts. Without your support, our cheque for £2,417.49 to 'Defying Dementia would not have been possible. It was an absolute pleasure to raise funds for such a worthy cause as the Defying Dementia charity and I am so proud of what we have achieved. Fulwood Hall Hospital is committed to charitable giving and I am pleased to announce that this year's chosen charity is North West Blood Bikes, a charity which provides a much needed out of hours service to the health industry."

Local charity - North West Blood Bikes (Lancashire & Lakes) is a non-profit making charity which provides an out of hours service to the NHS to transport lifesaving medical supplies to hospitals in our region. The charity receives no central funding or payment for its services and relies solely on fundraising and sponsorship.
